Tale of Reed: Masnavi-i-Rumi

Hearken to the reed-flute, how it complains, lamenting
its banishment from its home:

“Ever since they tore me from my osier bed,
My plaintive notes have moved men and women to tears.
I burst my breast, striving to give vent to sighs, and to
express the pangs of my yearning for my home.

He who abides far away from his home
Is ever longing for the day he shall return.

My wailing is heard in every throng,
In concert with them that rejoice and them that weep.

Each interprets my notes in harmony with his own
feelings.

But not one fathoms the secrets of my heart.
My secrets are not alien from my plaintive notes,
Yet they are not manifest to the sensual eye and ear.

Body is not veiled from soul, neither soul from body,
Yet no man hath ever seen a soul.”

The above was an abstract from Masnavi (the works of Rumi); the translators of the book have translated the work into many languages and tongues but none did the job of interpretation.

Here, Rumi is clearly beginning the book with the tale of a reed which was separated from its wood long long ago.

The very passage actually talks about the soul of man been separated from God. The essence of Sufism is that, the soul has come from the eternal and has to go back to eternal, the world temporal has got it all bounded and it longs for the love of life that is God.

Now, take the above epitome and instead of reading it with a mind-set of reed flute, put soul of a man into it and read the tale of reed. 🙂

Jonathan (Spencer Nelington’s) wildest fantasies

You took my cold , cold heart
Gave it a little love spark, Now unto my mind it doesn’t hark
Im left standing in the dark , bare with despair, wanting to show u how much i care, But can i?
I cant! , Why not? You demand!

I wish you could know, But i just cannot show, How much i love you & so, i hide my face,
under a writer’s trace , running into the depth of mind’s space , in an attempt to find solace. But i find none, Instead im undone, by your face that shines like the illuminated sun.

As time draws near , yet you go far , someday i hope , ill meet you where you are , & you’ll see the scar, of a heart that still , beats for you at will, & has a void that only you can fill 🙂

LANGUAGES : Communication and Connection

Our world is referred to as a modern world because of its diversity and uniqueness …
Today people are talking about Networking.. – a decade ago we never even uttered the word… In our wildest dreams it wasn’t there … We never thought we’d come this far….

Technology made it possible … And why was technology successful in doing so… Because of the Communication Revolution….

Today our entire world and its systems revolves around/on Communication.. Businesses, politics, technology, diversification etc..

Infact our relationships with our families, friends and even GOD depends upn communication ….

It suddenly dawned on me one day, what if I learn languages and make friends.. Weird it was.. But fun though.

I began educating myself in series of communications related scopeias, for instance… If I want to communicate with the computer I gotta learn software or programming, which is a language in which computer speaks … Similarly world languages .. They have their impact … Don’t believe me … ? If you ever happen to meet any stranger from another nation … Randomly, say for instance you meet a person from china and tell him ‘Ni hao ma wo de pengyou’ (How are you my friend) or meet a guy from South Africa and tell him ‘Kunjani’? (How are you) …or ‘Nkosi sikeleli afrika’ (god bless South Africa) suddenly brings smile on their faces…

Believe me .. That smile is worth it…. People sometimes feel far from home and when in an alien nation, someone speaks in your language… Seriously makes you feel home… You must be thinking its surreal … Surreal yes boring no…..

Once in Dubai metro, me and my friends were travelling. They suddenly made a pact; why don’t we communicate in other languages … Just for fun … knowing how ostentatious I am and would love to show them some of my freaknoid skills… We started speaking in various languages …. Suddenly a white guy next to us took a note of it and was waiting to see, whether I was able to communicate in his language …. Turns out he was from Ireland … And I’d just said ‘Conas ata tu a chara‘….

He suddenly laughed out there applauding and quickly befriended … See… Languages create adventures for me …

Have no idea why I’m writing this but …

A Humorist

Comedy, Cosmic satire… I don’t know…
Is that an attire??

I don’t know what sarcasm is and what humorists do… I probably think they say something that makes the world smile…

Oops, have you ever noticed the difference between a smile and a laugh.. Oops (doesn’t stand for Object-oriented-programming)…

I thought Russel peters was pretty swearing kinda.. People still finds him funny… I enjoy some of his jokes…

In comedy your weaknesses are your strengths… (Say that in a British accent)… You see it will become funny automatically for a non-british-accent native/speaker.. 🙂

3 poor friends had a dream of eating ‘Biryani’, however they couldn’t afford to eat because it was expensive in those days.. and considered as Royal cuisine…

3 of them saved some money and order Biryani and ate all night happily… However, the pot-luck wasn’t over, they had full-stomach but the desire to eat more didn’t fade away… So they made a plan… They said… we will sleep tonight and tomorrow we will get up and narrate our dreams and who-so-ever have had the most beautiful dream would get the left biryani…:)

The trio slept well and when they woke up they started narrating their dreams: 1st said, I saw that I was in Heaven and the fairies were giving me massage 🙂 LOL

The 2nd said, I went on a world tour and made a lot of fame… (Ibn battuta Kinda)… 🙂

The 3rd said, have a look at the Biryani bowl and everyone looked at it and it was empty…

All in shock, they said to each other, who did it?? The 3rd one replied, at night when you all were asleep, the devil, the monster came at night and persuaded me to eat all the left-over (Biryani) and threatened me that if I don’t, He’ll kill me, so I ate it all…

They said. you fooooooooooooooooooool … Why didn’t you wake us up… ??

HE SAID: HOW COULD I?? You were in Heaven with fairies having a massage and You went on the world TOUR

ahhahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaahah LOL

See Humor… 🙂
