WHERE DO I BELONG TO?!

Hello Folks,

How have you guys been? I know, feels like someone just got off from the sleep :-). I believe all is well with you guys. I have been really busy since last 8 months, I am in a process to start my business – will keep you guys posted once on…. and have also started taking French Classes – “wanna-be a pro” :-).

Anyways, I don’t know from where I should start – since this is quite a sensitive topic, I am out of words but I wanted to let it out so…. here it goes.

——————————– BASED ON A TRUE STORY——————————-

Lived next to this guy named “Javed Ali” for a long time, young chap with good-looks and ambitious. He wanted to grow in his life and become successful just like we all want to.

Like me, he wanted to live in a world where there’s peace and love among people, where people cared for each other and would vow to take care of everyone… but to his utter dismay – it remained a dream.

Since he was a muslim, he was always criticized by the people of other faith, esp. because he was in India, he was not considered as first class citizen. He would be always bullied by his friends, they’d mock him and his faith etc. It happened to his few Hindu friends as well, they weren’t liked by the muslims.

One night, we had a long conversation and he told me these:

I am a muslim – where should I go? I am not accepted in India because I am not a Hindu. I cannot go to Pakistan, because I don’t belong there. They’d kill me cause I am a Shia muslim; maybe I can go to the West but there’s racism out there, they don’t want a brown man stealing their jobs. Where should I go, Africa – they have enough of their people living in poverty, what will I find there? They would probably kill me.
I cannot live in the Mid-East since there’s War out there…. Where should I go? Every place on the earth has disowned me.

I couldn’t take it anymore and I bid adieu – that whole night I couldn’t help but to wonder and think, is this world really bad? What times are we living in? People aren’t accepting others just the way they are –

How I wish, there will be a place someday on earth, where we will love each other, that we wouldn’t live without helping our fellow human kind and other beings…

Reunion in US

Hello folks!!

How have you guys been?? What are you upto??

I really apologise for not being around for such a long time. I was really occupied with a few errands.

Well, this June I took a 20 days trip to US and gallivanted across 15 states incl(D.C) which is not a state for sure… if you say that in D.C, you are lookin’ for trouble.

Anyways, the trip was fantastic, I really enjoyed my time there and was with my friends; some of the most finest people on earth 🙂

We took a road trip which began in Baltimore, Maryland and onwards to New York. Then we travelled further mid-west covering West Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Missouri & Kansas. We took a detour in Ohio, we got down in Zanesville and took a motel for a night (Best Western) it was really good.

Btw, I learned how to swim 🙂 Yah… I didn’t know how to swim before… But now I DO!!!

Also, we stopped by to say hi to my Grandpa who is a famous Sitar player from India, who now lives in St.Louis,MO, he is a maverick and dexterous too.

Celebrated 4th of July in Dallas and then I left Dallas on 07th early morning; heard there was shooting goin on there in Dallas, feel sorry for the folks out there.

All in all it was an adventurous trip. The most exciting part of the trip was…..

I met a girl and I fell in love 🙂 Oh god it was so wonderful… I’m planning on visiting her next year and will take a trip to Park city & Heber city, Utah 🙂

Ghanaian Soya

Hello Folks!!

How have y’ll been? Well, I have been quite occupied with my work and planning for my vacation to the US this year. Yah, I got my tickets done and I’m planning to visit DC, NYC, B’more, Philly, KC & Dallas.

Anyways, this post is about a new food item which I learned from my friend George Gyau of Ghana; its called as ‘Ghanaian Soya’.

I learned this recipe from him, while he was here in Bombay for an internship through AIESEC. He used to make this item mebbe every Sunday I suppose….

Anyways, here’s how he made it.

Ingredients:

1 packet – Soya bean
1 finely chopped onion
1 finely chopped tomato
2 finely chopped potato (french fries style)
Cooking oil (coconut or olive) anything.
tomato puree/sauce.
finely chopped coriander.

Preparation:

Firstly, empty the packet of soya into a bowl full of water and leave it for 10 mins, till the beans become soft and spongy.

Then, take your cookware and pour a lil oil into it, followed by chopped onion, tomato and potato. Stir it till the colour of onion is gold and potatoes are cooked well, then put all the beans inside it and stir it for 10 mins.

Lastly, the touch of tomato puree or sauce whatever you have at home and coriander. Cover with the lid for a 2 mins and let it cook.
Serve it with rice or eat with bread.!!

Tale of Reed: Masnavi-i-Rumi

Hearken to the reed-flute, how it complains, lamenting
its banishment from its home:

“Ever since they tore me from my osier bed,
My plaintive notes have moved men and women to tears.
I burst my breast, striving to give vent to sighs, and to
express the pangs of my yearning for my home.

He who abides far away from his home
Is ever longing for the day he shall return.

My wailing is heard in every throng,
In concert with them that rejoice and them that weep.

Each interprets my notes in harmony with his own
feelings.

But not one fathoms the secrets of my heart.
My secrets are not alien from my plaintive notes,
Yet they are not manifest to the sensual eye and ear.

Body is not veiled from soul, neither soul from body,
Yet no man hath ever seen a soul.”

The above was an abstract from Masnavi (the works of Rumi); the translators of the book have translated the work into many languages and tongues but none did the job of interpretation.

Here, Rumi is clearly beginning the book with the tale of a reed which was separated from its wood long long ago.

The very passage actually talks about the soul of man been separated from God. The essence of Sufism is that, the soul has come from the eternal and has to go back to eternal, the world temporal has got it all bounded and it longs for the love of life that is God.

Now, take the above epitome and instead of reading it with a mind-set of reed flute, put soul of a man into it and read the tale of reed. 🙂

Can beauty be reviewed? – An attempt

Skeptical me, looked at the MacBook air and thought it would be small, inadequate to meet my writing needs, but hell was I wrong, it’s a dream come true.

The smooth surface of the keys, the perfectly sized screen, its sleek looks & backlit keys not to mention it has a logo that glows making me watch with glee.
Though these are my first impressions, its hard to think of the negatives of this lovely piece of tech, I just cant get enough of its beauty and most of all the satisfaction from which I get.
Hi Mac, How do you do?

Its been long but it sure is nice to meet you, seeing you in the retail store, I really had no clue, my fingers would actually get the opportunity to one use you, thank you for all that you are, white and silver, on a dark theme, making u shine like an illuminated star.

________ A review given by Sir Spencer on my newly bought MacBook Air, this season…

I bought it specially to write on WordPress 🙂

Nothing much to say

What’s up folks!!

How’s life treating you so far?? I know I haven’t written in a long time… (LIKE PEOPLE CARE) ???!! LOL

Has it ever crossed your brilliant mind, sometimes life has so much to offer you, but you are staring blankly at some normal routine and boring stuff…

Yeah! When you start caring about things you love to do … then its your real self that is manifested…

People come everyday in the world and they go.. its right there… the life is blank completely blank…

I believe in making each day count…

Past few weeks, I haven’t been myself… I started working hard for some deals but couldn’t crack… then when I wasn’t looking for it… it came right at my face staring at me… !!

I suppose life will keep surprising us…all we have to do is embrace its offering!!
