Tale of Reed: Masnavi-i-Rumi

Hearken to the reed-flute, how it complains, lamenting
its banishment from its home:

“Ever since they tore me from my osier bed,
My plaintive notes have moved men and women to tears.
I burst my breast, striving to give vent to sighs, and to
express the pangs of my yearning for my home.

He who abides far away from his home
Is ever longing for the day he shall return.

My wailing is heard in every throng,
In concert with them that rejoice and them that weep.

Each interprets my notes in harmony with his own
feelings.

But not one fathoms the secrets of my heart.
My secrets are not alien from my plaintive notes,
Yet they are not manifest to the sensual eye and ear.

Body is not veiled from soul, neither soul from body,
Yet no man hath ever seen a soul.”

The above was an abstract from Masnavi (the works of Rumi); the translators of the book have translated the work into many languages and tongues but none did the job of interpretation.

Here, Rumi is clearly beginning the book with the tale of a reed which was separated from its wood long long ago.

The very passage actually talks about the soul of man been separated from God. The essence of Sufism is that, the soul has come from the eternal and has to go back to eternal, the world temporal has got it all bounded and it longs for the love of life that is God.

Now, take the above epitome and instead of reading it with a mind-set of reed flute, put soul of a man into it and read the tale of reed. 🙂

Can beauty be reviewed? – An attempt

Skeptical me, looked at the MacBook air and thought it would be small, inadequate to meet my writing needs, but hell was I wrong, it’s a dream come true.

The smooth surface of the keys, the perfectly sized screen, its sleek looks & backlit keys not to mention it has a logo that glows making me watch with glee.
Though these are my first impressions, its hard to think of the negatives of this lovely piece of tech, I just cant get enough of its beauty and most of all the satisfaction from which I get.
Hi Mac, How do you do?

Its been long but it sure is nice to meet you, seeing you in the retail store, I really had no clue, my fingers would actually get the opportunity to one use you, thank you for all that you are, white and silver, on a dark theme, making u shine like an illuminated star.

________ A review given by Sir Spencer on my newly bought MacBook Air, this season…

I bought it specially to write on WordPress 🙂

Life is not about wining Brownie Points!!

I was thinking to myself … Is this world really a place to adore?? Where everything is perfect still the lives aren’t.
Where man is always surrounded by problems and vagaries of life.

When you were an infant, your parents had a tension to raise you up.

When you were a teen, the problem of your education….

After education, exam tensions,… After exams… good result… Good result … Good career…

Good wife… then good life… then settlement… then kids…

Now … where you parents stood…. you stand in that same place again…

So tell me… is it worth adoring this life…

??

There is no Love

What’s up people!!! What’s down!!

I have been thinking, when people say ‘I cannot live without you’ is just a bluff…

Most of the time in our darkest hour we say things like, oh I wish I could have had him/her more …
Even if our own kin our own mother or father, they the most loved ones passes away the pain is for a time… then memories…
it just fades away.

Time is a different thing… it doesn’t stop for anyone… it changes … with time the picture becomes blur…

You don’t remember the bygones.. do you?

You only get to live once… Why not live to the max?? I say its LIKING rather than LOVING…

People say, i’m incomplete without you… I say you were never… You came alone and will go alone…

Life is just a journey with all strangers… Its the realization that makes you a different person…

Expect nothing, you’ve nothing to lose.. Like people not love…

Jonathan (Spencer Nelington’s) wildest fantasies

You took my cold , cold heart
Gave it a little love spark, Now unto my mind it doesn’t hark
Im left standing in the dark , bare with despair, wanting to show u how much i care, But can i?
I cant! , Why not? You demand!

I wish you could know, But i just cannot show, How much i love you & so, i hide my face,
under a writer’s trace , running into the depth of mind’s space , in an attempt to find solace. But i find none, Instead im undone, by your face that shines like the illuminated sun.

As time draws near , yet you go far , someday i hope , ill meet you where you are , & you’ll see the scar, of a heart that still , beats for you at will, & has a void that only you can fill 🙂

My Tryst with Rumi : A spiritual Transcend

Deep within my sorrowful heart
Life was tearing me apart

Disturbed and weary I was
to whom to go to I knew not.

I searched the world to find my beloved
But beloved I met not.

Like a wanderer, beggar and a meek dervish I roamed
In his search I roamed
Not knowing where I will end, I roamed

Searched him in the mosque, Searched him in the skies..
Searched him in the temple and the world – wide….

When life came to an end
The messiah within my heart called me
I asked who are you?
Said, I’m the beloved and I’m here to set you free.

I said: I searched you everywhere
He said: I was near but only if you knew….
I was always there, but only if you knew….
Every breath you breathe was a step towards me

When I told him: In your search; I sacrificed my youth, sacrificed my youth, sacrificed my youth.
Beloved said: In love, people sacrifice their faith, hope and life, What a big deal!! You scarified your youth??!!

Destroy the temples, destroy the mosques, destroy everything that can be demolish.
But never destroy(break) someone’s heart, because the beloved lives inside….

O Rumi, to your abode I come,
With humility I come,
Like you in the world I found none
Your face is like the illuminated Sun

I give it all for you and hold not
O beloved will you promise to leave not!!

I drink the wine of passion and around the beloved I roam
I may talk like a drunk but like a wise-lion I roam…

With Rumi I danced my way to heart
Now we will never live apart.
Love
Alan.
